SECTION 1 – INTRODUCTION, PURPOSE, AND CONTACT

The City of Patterson Engineering Services Department seeks a qualified traffic and/or transportation consultant to conduct a traffic survey to update the speed limits on approximately 16 roadway segments that may be expanded up to 25 roadway segments. See Attachment A, Speed Survey Street Segments, for a map of the street segments.

The consultant will:

1. Conduct speed survey in each speed zone;
2. Identify roadway, traffic, and roadside conditions not readily apparent to the driver that may affect speed zones;
3. Recommend the speed limit in each speed zone in accordance with Section 2B.13, Speed Limit Sign (R2-1), of the latest edition of the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA MUTCD).

Purpose of the Request

The City invites proposals that include traffic speed survey services by an appropriately licensed team to work under the direction of City Staff. The selected firm will exhibit experience in the collection of traffic speed surveys  and assignment of speed limits for designated roadways for municipal agencies.
